The Kearns Family // Truth Session // Portland Family Photographer

Well first off, can I just say thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have left a comment, sent me a message (or two), inquired, and hired me for these Truth Sessions! Honestly, I had a moment where I just broke down because of all the love and support I was feeling. I couldn’t take photos of families like this if you didn’t believe in me, or my work. So thank you!! It truly meant so much, and now we are booked all of May for these sessions, I just went to California and did two more! We will have a lot to show you, and then comes wedding season! So keep up with us, we have heaps to show you!

Which brings me to this lovely little family. When I was working as a barista at starbucks, Jordann would come in every day. I could probably still recite her drink to you… we eventually became friends, and when we found out she was pregnant all of us were so excited for her! Every day we could see the babes growing and growing. We were so anxious when she didn’t come into the store because we knew she was having the baby and we just couldn’t wait to meet her! Finally she brought her little bundle of joy in, and we were ecstatic. So much so, that we promptly would stop working, go around to the counter and go give that chubby little girl some love. I’m pretty sure the customers were annoyed but we didn’t really care. Well, our friendship grew and I’ve gotten to go play with the little red head girl, take photos of her, go to the zoo with her, and just be a constant in her life. Jordann & Brian also have been amazing, and let me take their photos before. You know the more traditional ones, but this time round we thought a truth session would be great, especially with an almost 2 year old!

Again, I just followed them around and did what they did. They walk almost every day to the bakery (no more bux, probs because I’m NOT there! ) and get some goodies. Go for walks, go to the park, and just hang out. I love being a little part of this family and just getting to hang out and make art of their lives. ITS AMAZING!

So here’s this families truth. I hope you enjoy it, and see their joy!

Ash, these are amazing! I love the life that’s captured in these un-staged, daily rhythms photographs. Just stunning.
