Storks & Babies

You’ve seen Katie a few posts back, and now she is bigger and glowing like an almost new mom should be. Her sister, Kellen and I decided that we were going to throw the best baby shower the world has ever seen. So we did! Inspired by rifle paper, we went with a gold, turquoise, and peach coulour theme with more of an elegant lay back feeling then baby and little things. Kellen thought it would be a great idea to cut storks and cloud out of wood (anything to use/buy a new power tool!) and hang them above us. We white washed them, and they looked amazing! I couldn’t have been more stoked. We also made some pom poms, brought the furniture from inside outside to make for a homey feeling. And in July in Oregon, the weather is the most gorgeous I’ve ever been in! We also knew, we didn’t want any baby games, and I always think that if I’m going to buy it and spend money on it, there better be more then one use for it. So! We made mobiles for the nursery, and such cute mobiles! Everyone made one, and now Kate has more decor for the house.. ALSO! She is taking the storks and clouds and she’s going to hang them in the babies room. 🙂 Karen was in charge of the food, and decided that glass plates were the appropriate dish ware, as were wine glasses for the amazing mimosa’s she served. She also made some beautiful raspberry infused lemonade, and a lemonade layered cake. It was soo yummy.

After all is said and done, and the work is done, and cleaned up, I’ve decided that it was the best baby shower ever! Man, I wish I could just plan/decorate parties for my other living!
